Hello,
As many of you know, I work at the Conley School in Whitman, which use to be called the Forest Street School back in the day (ugg we’re old). Maryellen Lewis, maiden name was Miss. Walls, is retiring at the end of this year. I can’t even say enough good things about her and how she will be so missed. I honestly believe that she is one of best teachers in the district and her absence will be felt. Anyways, I am writing to all of you asking if you had her as a teacher in the past (or if you were at a different school could forward it on to anyone you may know) if you could write something down that you remember about her. Our staff would like to put together a little book for her. It would be so appreciated and special if you could write a comment (a paragraph, statement, poem, acrostic, anyway you choose to communicate your thoughts) and email it to me and if you have a picture from your time here at the school and/or one of you now that would be awesome!
Your comments do not have to be elaborate. I’ve had people write things as simple as remembering her working with a girl in their class who was completely blind, someone remembered her outfits, one remember the play they put on and one remembered a red and yellow puppet theater she had in her class. It can be the simplest thing and it can be serious or funny. She’d love to hear about it. So please take the time to put something together for me and email it to me or you can send it to me here at Conley School.
